Alert Issued For Suspect In SUV Wanted After Hit-Run Long Island Crash

Police on Long Island need the public’s help finding a hit-and-run driver who struck a pedestrian in Brookhaven.

The victim was walking on Neighborhood Road in Mastic Beach at around 8 p.m. Thursday, April 21, when he was struck by a dark-colored SUV, Suffolk County Police said.

Instead of stopping and rendering aid, the driver took off heading southbound on Flower Road.

The victim was taken to a hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Investigators released surveillance images showing the SUV believed to be involved in the crash.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.
